Accident Insurance For Children - Something You Must Not Ignore

Accident insurance for children is often forgotten by parents and guardians. Most people ignore providing financial security for children in case they got seriously injured in an untoward event. However, it is also true that nobody wants to see their children in wheelchairs for their entire life and therefore, accident insurance for children is the hidden truth that is to be accepted as soon as possible. The children's case is forgotten just because it is thought, for some inane reason, that children are less exposed to accidental risks. But, this is not true at all. Children are very susceptible to accidental injuries, so what if they do not drive on the roads? The scenario is slowly changing though; parents are realizing the importance of accident insurance for children. They want to know that in the event of anything bad happening to their children, at least there should not be a financial crisis. Accident insurance for children is generally included in family health insurance policies. These policies are indeed worth going for as they cover major risks to which your son or daughter is always exposed to. Health insurance for children can cover illness and broken bones but generally covers everything that happens to a child health-wise. Accident insurance slightly differs from the health insurance as it covers the physical damage due to unwanted events such as vehicle accidents, falling from heights, skiing injuries, shock, drowning etc. Your child is exposed to the world and so to the risks too. Accidents on school trips are unfortunately not covered by accident insurance companies but looking to the demand, many companies are now coming up with new policies that cover those accidents too. You can also ask for the school trip accident insurance to the school itself. One of the main benefits in accident insurances for children is that the premiums are lesser than those in similar adult insurance. The premium is less because the risk is less in case of children. There are some insurance policies that cover both; accidents and also health problems as they are covered in mediclaims (medical claims). There are many agencies which offer you the best policies and you can also contact some private person who is professional and dealing with different type of accident insurance. These professionals are available almost any time of the day to provide their services. They can help you getting the best suitable insurance policies for your son or daughter that can cover maximum accidental risks. Once you start getting the policies, you can also claim the bonuses that are subjected to certain terms and conditions. Every responsible parent must take accident insurance for their kids. Accidents are uncertain and they are irreversible, but at least these policies can bring some relief in terms of economical support. Guide to Secured Loans

Here is a useful guide to secured loans. A secured loan is a loan that a lender provides on the understanding that a property is secured against the loan. Secured loans are also commonly known as a homeowner loan, home loan or home owner loan. Secured loans can be a sensible way to borrow for certain expensive items, such as home improvements or debt consolidation. This type of loan is usually provided with a lower interest rate than an unsecured loan because you will have secured your property against it. They are normally quicker to arrange because the lender has some security to offset against the loan should you default on the repayments. A secured loan enables homeowners to borrow capital and offset the risk against the value of their property. This means that anyone taking out a secured loan is effectively using their property to guarantee the loan. If the borrower fails with the repayments, there could be a possibility their home is at risk. Because the loan is secured against your home, the interest rate should be cheaper than an unsecured loan and you may be able to borrow more. One of the major benefits of a secured loan is that the interest rate charged by the lender tends to be significantly lower than that of an unsecured loan. A lower interest rate, which is calculated as the annual percentage rate (APR), means that more of your monthly repayment is going towards repaying the original loan, rather than being absorbed by the interest you have incurred along the way. The interest rate for your secured loan will depend on many factors such as the amount of loan requested, the terms of the loan and your personal details. Also, you can cut your monthly payments by stretching the loan over a longer term anywhere between five and twenty-five years. A secured loan is the perfect way to borrow between ?5,000 and ?75,000 at a low rate. Obviously the better your credit history and individual circumstances will affect the rate which is offered to you. You can be approved for a secured loan even if you have mortgage arrears, retired or have county court judgements. The consequences of not being able to keep up your payments are much more serious than with an unsecured loan. The danger with a secured loan is if you are unable to keep up the repayments on your loan your home which secured the loan could be in danger. Should you fall into difficulties or are unable to make the repayments on your loan you will sooner or later lose your home. This is why before taking out a secured loan it is vital that you consider your debt problems seriously and make sure that you have budgeted fully and can cover the loan repayments.

Loan Options for College Students

You just finished high school and realize you have two months to work and save up for your very expensive post secondary education. Your parents are willing to help you out a bit, you have a very impressive $4.32 stashed in your savings account, and you have a rewarding job at Wal-Mart 3 days a week. You should be set right? Wrong. College and university is one of the biggest financial commitments you will make during your life. . Most students get a loan of some sort and almost all have credit cards. That's why it's important to know you have options Government Student Loans Here in Canada and in many parts of the world there are government student loan programs which almost anyone is eligible for. The loan amount is usually based on a number different factors including, how much financial support you are receiving from parents, and the total cost of tuition and other fees. The major benefit to a government issued student loan is that most require repayment only after you have completed your studies. However, like any loan, a heavy interest rate is the downside. Student loan through a bank Most major financial institutions offer student loans or student line of credit. There are several benefits to this form of loan. Most often the interest rates are reasonable, and minimal payment is usually expected. Most banks even further the convenience by attaching the loan to an existing account, or by giving you a credit card. Remember, banks "bank" on the fact that you will spend that money. Credit cards Many students rely on their credit card(s) to get them through school. On a short term basis, credit cards are a great source of cash which is easily accessible However unlike a loan, you have to start paying back immediately (monthly), often with outrageous interest rates. Most times, students rely too much on credit cards and find themselves having money trouble before the school year is even finished. And once a credit card is "maxed" and you are unable to pay the minimal payment, additional interest rates and "service" fees are attached. College educations are not cheap. In fact, tuition fees go up by staggering numbers every year. The truth of the matter is, unless you have parents who are willing to flip the bill or some other support, you are likely going to need a loan or some sort of financial assistance. The best advice is to educate yourself. Know what is involved in a loan, know the interest rates, and know your responsibility of payment. A four year education is an awesome financial burden, so it's important to know your options. 5 Benefits of Student Loan Consolidation By Ricky Lim Platinum Quality Author Are you sick of paying interest on your monthly student loans with no end in sight? Afraid of cash-flow problems that may prevent you from paying your student loans on time? I know I was and there is a solution to this problem. It is called student loan consolidation. What is Student Loan Consolidation?Student loan consolidation simply means consolidating all your student loans into a single loan with a monthly payment plan. Effectively, all your previous student loans are written off and a new student loan is created which you have to pay off monthly. Benefits of Student Loan ConsolidationHere are some of the benefits of student loan consolidation 1. Lower monthly paymentsBy consolidating all your student loans into one loan, you only need to pay off one loan monthly instead of several student loans monthly. Thus, your monthly payment is lower2. Pay only one loan monthly instead of several student loans monthlyIt is a lot easier if you have to manage only one student loan instead of several student loans with different payment deadlines. Also, sometimes with many student loans, you may ended up forgetting to pay one student loan.3. Low, fixed interest rateBy consolidating your student loans, you will be able to take advantages of low, fixed interest rates. Currently, by law, student loan consolidation rates cannot exceed 8.25%. Furthermore, national interest rates are at a 40-year low therefore this is a good time to get one. 4. No credit card check or processing feesNo credit card check is required during the application of a student loan consolidation. The payment plans and terms are usually quite flexible in that they can customize it according to your financial standing. 5. Make monthly student loan payment electronicallyWhile it is not necessary to make payment electronically, most lenders will knock 0.25% off your student loan rates if you make payment electronically. Also, using direct debit from your bank account will prevent you from forgetting to make a payment.Sometimes it can get quite confusing as to the qualification of applying for a student loan consolidation. The official stand from the government is that students who are still in their grace period or who are still studying in school may qualify for government student loan consolidation. The government student loan consolidation nowadays are quite competitive compared to private sector, therefore I would recommend going for a government student loan consolidation. NBCH Releases eValue8 Report on Health Plans' Performance Around HHS' Four Cornerstones of Value-Driven Health Care

Findings reveal health plans are providing consumers with robust quality and price information on hospitals, but not doctors WASHINGTON, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, the non-profitNational Business Coalition on Health (NBCH), released the "eValue8(TM)Cornerstone Report: Measuring the Success of America's Health Plans." Thisis the first comparison of the performance of America's health plansbenchmarked against the Four Cornerstones of Value-Driven Health Care.Released on the eve of the first anniversary of President Bush's ExecutiveOrder to promote federally-led efforts to implement more transparent andhigh-quality health care, the baseline report is publicly available and canbe accessed at: http://www.nbch.org/eValue8/news/cornerstonereport.pdf. In 2006, a consortium of U.S. business groups, along with the federalgovernment, agreed to urge the nation's public and private health carepurchasers to promote transparency and the adoption of informationtechnology by implementing Four Cornerstone actions: 1) to collect anddisseminate quality information on physicians and hospitals; 2) to collectand disseminate information on price; 3) to offer incentives to providersto improve their care and offer consumers incentives to stay healthy andmake cost-effective choices; and 4) to use and encourage physicians andhospitals to adopt and utilize health information standards and systemsthat communicate between providers. "As we work toward the goal of providing all Americans with easy-to-useinformation on health care quality and costs to make informed decisions, health plans play a critical role in providing this information toconsumers," said Mike Leavitt, Secretary of Health and Human Services(HHS). "HHS applauds NBCH's leadership in working with coalitions andemployers to report how America's health plans are performing around theFour Cornerstones of Value- Driven Health Care." NBCH's eValue8 program is the nation's leading standardized request forinformation (RFI) tool that employers and coalitions use to gather healthcare data from nearly 200 health plans and health insurers. Over 100million Americans, or one in every three Americans, are members of healthplans that respond to the eValue8 RFI. Given the critical role that healthplans play in fostering quality, NBCH member coalitions and employers askhealth plans to complete the eValue8 RFI annually. The data allowsemployers to select the best plans and work with them to raise the level ofhealth for plan members as well as the entire community. The eValue8 Cornerstone Report analyzes and compares health planresponses to 19 questions called for by HHS in the Employer Toolkit forValue-Driven Health Care (http://www.hhs.gov/valuedriven/) and now embeddedin the eValue8 common RFI. These questions determine the plans' ability tomeet purchasers' expectations on promoting transparency, care improvementand information technology. The complete 2007 eValue8 analysis of healthplan performance on the full set of seven clinical and administrative areaswill be available later this year. "The data and dialogue that result from eValue8 is invaluable toemployers in setting performance expectations of their plans and measuringand rewarding high quality health care," said Andrew Webber, president andCEO of the National Business Coalition on Health. "By providing a snapshotof eValue8 as it relates to the Four Cornerstones, we are moving forwardthe value-driven health care agenda and providing a baseline to improvehealth care quality and cost." Cornerstone Report findings NBCH has found that health plans have made progress toward the FourCornerstone goals in many respects, but there is wide variation in planperformance leaving significant room for improvement. Promoting quality and price transparency -- For quality transparency, hospital reporting is ahead of physician reporting. Consumer reporting of standard physician performance measures in areas like prevention, diabetes and cardiovascular conditions is done by only six percent of health plans. In contrast almost 30 percent of plans provide reports to consumers about hospital quality in areas like heart attacks and pneumonia. -- Information about prescription drugs is widely available with 75 percent of health plans offering their members information on the cost of their prescription drugs. Aligning incentives for high-value health care -- About 50 percent of health plans are paying providers cash incentives based on providing better health care. This is progress, but it should be noted that plans are still using an underlying payment system that pays providers for services regardless of health outcomes. In fact, almost all health plans pay extra to contend with the consequences of medical errors. -- In keeping with the trend toward value-based benefit design, health plans are beginning to provide incentives for members to choose higher performing doctors. Promoting and using health information technology (HIT) andinteroperability -- While health plans are making significant progress in making online tools like personal health records available to its members, HIT adoption and interoperability is in its infancy. -- Sixty four percent of health plans report providing online personal health records for their members (although most of these require self- entry of information rather than pre-population with plan information like tests taken and prescriptions filled). -- Forty-one percent of health plans use HIT interoperability standards for 75 percent or more of their enrollment and eligibility transactions. -- Seven percent of health plans report providing electronic medical records for physicians in their network. -- Twenty-nine percent of health plans report supporting online medical consultations that can save money and time for consumers. eValue8 promotes collaboration between plans In order for information on physicians to be statistically valid, suchreporting requires more patients than a typical plan can claim within asingle physician practice. This fact highlights the importance of healthplan collaboration on practice reporting. About one-third of the plansreport pooling information for hospital feedback and one-third report thesame for physician feedback. Also included in the report are examples of health plans implementingthe Four Cornerstones and its impact on patients who benefit from safer andmore efficient health plans. About the National Business Coalition on Health and eValue8 Celebrating 15 years of value based purchasing, NBCH is a national,non- profit, membership organization of nearly 70 employer-based healthcare coalitions, representing over 7,000 employers and 34 million employeesand their dependents across the United States. NBCH and its members arededicated to value based purchasing of health care services through thecollective action of public and private purchasers. eValue8(TM) is aproduct of the National Business Coalition on Health and is the nation'sleading evidence- based request for information (RFI) tool used bycoalitions and major employers to assess and manage the quality of theirhealth care vendors.
